Ettore Roesler Franz, author of the prestigious collection of 120 watercolors called “Vanished Rome”, is among the painters of the nineteenth century who most exhibited around the world. Master of watercolor technique, he can be considered as one of the most valuable examples of Realism genre of the late nineteenth century. His works constitute a historical record of urban and suburban views that were disappearing, to be handed down to posterity.
